Why can I not hear the midi output?
Check that you have set up the midi for first use by clicking
on the Midi Setup item on the Tools menu. Click the Test button
to test the output. If there are several soundcard options
then try each of them in turn.
If a message appears to indicate that it is OK, but you still
do not hear anything. Ensure your computer speakers are turned
well up and the slider control in the midi setup dialog box
is set to fff (the far right).
Users have recently reported loss of sound after installation
of Microsoft Windows Media Player 11. This is rectified by
double-clicking on the volume control icon on the Windows
taskbar and then moving the slider up for the SW Syth.
Is there an AppleMac version of
HymnQuest?
Unfortunatley not - although there are a number of users running
HymnQuest perfectly happily using the VirtualPC, Parallel Desktop or SoftWindows98 emulators on the iMac.
The development of HymnQuest has been a major financial
undertaking for The Pratt Green Trust. The additional costs,
expertise and time to develop it for other platforms such
as the Mac were simply not available to them. However, this
obviously does not mean that they will be unable to port the
product to other platforms in future releases, but this will
be dependant on the success of the PC version making such
funding possible.
HymnQuest 2008 Specific Questions
After installing HymnQuest 2008 on my Vista Home Premium PC, I get an error message "AdsTable7: Error 5041. The requested object was not found. Key
not in index". What should I do?
We think this is something to do with Windows Vista "Virtualisation". The simplest solution is to uninstall HymnQuest 2008 and then re-install it in either the root folder (e.g. "c:\HymnQuest" or in your "My Documents" folder)
