Marjorie Dobson
Born
and raised in the mining area of County Durham, Marjorie Dobson was called
to be a Methodist Local Preacher at the age of twenty. Since then, her
gift for inspiring worship in which the hopes and challenges of contemporary
Christians are faithfully reflected has found expression in her work with
youth groups and in broadcasting, as well as in her writing, which is
increasingly recognised for its vitality and relevance.
A strongly dramatic sense animates not only her set-piece monologues and entertainments, but also her hymns, meditations, prayers and poems. They are brought together in her first published anthology, Multi-coloured Maze, linking many themes from modern living with the experiences of Marjorie’s own life to make an intriguing collection that mixes the insights of joy and sadness with a compelling sense of humour.

In each of the five sections – The Festival Way, The Biblical Way, The Disciples' Way, The Family Way and The Global Way – Marjorie allows us to see the 'working out of many of the texts through her own faith experience as a Methodist Local Preacher, dedicated to seeking out new paths in worship experiences meaningful for Christians today.
